This course introduces the physical education major to the profession of education while focusing on the discipline of health and physical education in American education. Additionally, this course examines both the nature and history of the teaching profession, PK school orientation, educational theories, and legal issues pertaining to the American educational institution. It also explores the nature of physical movement, as well as the breadth, scope, and significance of physical education and its role and relationship to the overall curriculum of the American public schools.
You will interact with classmates and the instructor by sharing thoughtful discussion ideas in the discussion forums. The most important aspect of this assignment is that it is an interactive assignment. It is important to interact with your classmates as they will provide diverse perspectives on the topics at hand, which will expand your knowledge of the concepts immensely.
There are 15 discussions in the course, but you are only required to participate in 6 discussions. The L01 Discussion i. Lesson 01 Discussion and Course Reflection Discussion are required, whole-class discussions.
